Secondly, the beach is well-organized at the most part with umbrellas and sundecks while a small part remains completely unspoilt, ideal for total isolation. However, keep in mind that in the summer, you may not be able to get a sun bed, unless you get there very early.

By Public transfers 

The central bus station of the island is in Argostoli. The good news is there are busses every day between Argostoli and Myrtos. However, keep in mind that schedules may change depending on the season. Just in case, always check the official timetables here.

Tip. Since buses don’t always stop at every scheduled stop on their itinerary.  We advise you to notify the driver of your destination, so that he makes a stop there.

By boat

There are daily boat tours organized from all the major tourist centers. Either you choose the organized tour, which is not too expensive, or you can rent a boat. In the end, we should be careful. Only rent a boat if you have experience. Namely, the sea currents can be pretty strong there.

Safety tip

Some experienced travelers are warning that the beach can be quite treacherous, especially when the wind and the water currents are strong. Therefore, we strongly recommend that under no circumstances, you should go in the water in the presence of a red flag and be extremely careful if a yellow flag is hoisted! Fortunately, the lifeguards take their work very seriously and always raise the proper flag in time.
