A brief intro into Agios Prokopios Beach in Naxos
This long beach of light-colored sand has brilliant turquoise waters. Its unique color and surroundings make some people consider Agios Prokopios a giant swimming pool. Its natural beauty draws many tourists, making it Naxos’s 2nd most famous beach.
Agios Prokopios is the area to stay, eat, and have fun from early till late, as there are many bars and restaurants.
The beach is well organized, with umbrellas and sunbeds everywhere except its northern section. During summer, the beach is crowded. So nowadays, only a few naturists in the area gather mainly at the beach’s north end.
How to reach the beach
Buses are very regular, especially during the high season. Getting a parking place during July and August can be challenging. It is the most common way to get to Aghios Prokopios.
Where to stay
Along the beach, you will find many suitable accommodations, from ones for budget travelers to luxurious ones. Remember, it is always good to know your preferences, and only then start picking up suitable apartments/hotels for you. As we frequently use public transport, we often consider the following parameters: distance from the beach, bus station, town center, host’s ranking, etc. Sometimes, more is less, but you already know how that goes. If you are doing some island hopping, you will be glad to hear that Naxos Island is much cheaper than the famous Santorini or Mykonos. And that for the price of the same beauty.
