Castelsardo is a picturesque town on the north coast of Sardinia. This historic village is especially famous for its ancient castle. It is, above all, a great place to explore on foot. And the historic lanes offer an insight into how Castelsardo appeared during the 12th century.
High up on the hill, the citadel walls are imposing. However, you can admire colorful houses that extend the village to the seashore below them.
Another highlight of a visit to this charming town is the local food. Castelsardo is home to some of the finest restaurants serving local Sardinian cuisine. Some of these also have beautiful locations. For example, if you fancy a trek up the pre-mentioned hill, you will find several restaurants open to panoramic views.
