Gay vacations in Torremolinos

Why choose Gay vacations in Torremolinos? Firstly, it is a gay mecca in southern Spain with magnificent sandy beaches. Second, there are more than 30 gay venues in the central area known as La Nogalera. You will also find all kinds of bars, clubs, and shops. Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest as the local guys from Malaga go out in Torremolinos.

Where is Torremolinos?

It lies just west of Malaga in Andalusia. The city has a subtropical, Mediterranean climate with mild winters and dry and hot summers. So, plenty of sunshine makes it an ideal place for your next gay vacation. But that’s not all; breezes from the sea make the summer heat bearable. It’s the perfect place to get a great tan and enjoy outdoor activities. Cool, isn’t it?

Sightseeing & Activities in Torremolinos

It is primarily a beach resort town, and there aren’t any historic sights or monuments. But for those looking to do more sightseeing, you’ll want to take the train to Malaga, which is only a 20-minute ride to the town center. Torremolinos has better beaches, but Malaga has more history, landmarks, and monuments.

Torremolinos gay bars

The gay nightlife in Torremolinos has something for everyone. The premier gay area is La Nogalera. You can walk right past it and not even realize it, but once you turn down the right street, you’ll find rows of gay bars huddled together with outdoor terraces lining the street. They all start picking up after midnight, and just a tip.
For bears, head to Bacchus; for drag shows, go to Guapatini’s Show Bar; and for a mixed scene, check out Chessa Bar. Most bars in La Nogalera have outdoor seating, so stroll around and see what looks most intriguing to you. With numerous options, you will find your perfect place!

City Gay Clubs & Parties

MEN’s bar – is dedicated to all things bear, leather, cruising, butch, and daddy, offering an underground play area, darkroom, and video room, a fun place to meet up for a drink with friends or make new ones.

Parthenon Club is a small dance club located in the heart of La Nogalera, a popular place for young visitors and locals with underground/house music. An entrance fee of around 8-10€ is typically charged, which includes a ticket for one drink.

Centuryon Club is the largest gay dance club in Torremolinos and often hosts significant events and circuit parties. The themes can change, though they typically play house music. This venue attracts a mixed crowd of all ages, but people are more interested in the circuit part scene. The entrance fee will usually include one drink.

EDEN is another gay-favorite beach club that serves food and drinks all day – a great place to enjoy coffee, lunch, or dinner, with good music, friendly service, and a fantastic atmosphere. More importantly, EDEN has a beach area that attracts all types of guys. Big parties during Pride Week and summer take place on the beach. It also hosts a popular tea dance on the weekends and organizes special events and parties that draw a nice mix of crowd. Like El Gato Lounge, EDEN offers beach services and provides free WiFi.

Aqua Club – the Aqua brand operates a gay bar and two clubs. Aqua Club is just downstairs from Aqua Terraza (bar). Aqua Emporio is a bit larger, across the walkway, and has a separate entrance. A shared darkroom connects the two clubs, and depending on the night of the week, you may be able to pass from one to the other without paying for a separate entrance. Music typically is pop/top 40 though some house music might be played depending on the event.

Centuryon Club – this is the biggest gay dance club in Torremolinos. This venue attracts a mixed crowd of all ages, but people are more interested in the circuit party scene. That’s why you can expect significant events and circuit parties there. The themes usually change, but they typically play house music. An entrance fee of 10-20€ generally charged depending on which event is on that night. And ultimately, the entrance fee will usually include one drink.

Torremolinos Gay Saunas

Apolo Sauna – is the only gay sauna in Torremolinos, and it is located outside of the city center. The most practical way to get there is by taxi. Ten minutes drive from the center. The facilities have been recently updated. The large venue has 1,500 square meters of facilities with a Finnish sauna, Jacuzzi, pub, showroom, smoking area, individual cabins, labyrinth, dark room, glory hole cabins, bondage area with cage, harness, and cross and video room. On weekend nights, it becomes an after-party upstairs with DJs, dancing, and performances.

Torremolinos gay beaches

For gays, there are three main sandy beaches to choose from. The first one, El Gato/Eden Beach, is a famous gay beach with plenty of gorgeous guys to keep your eyes busy. Tourists and locals go here, accessible from the central part of town. Poseidon Beach, right next to the restaurant by the same name, was a more popular gay beach a few decades ago. Nowadays, it’s become less popular, with gays having more straight visitors and families. For a cruising/nude beach, Guadalmar Beach is a mixed nude beach farther out from the city between Torremolinos and Malaga near the Campo Golf Course.

Gay Events

Plenty of significant LGBT+ events are held yearly, providing a justified excuse to visit the resort town. Torremolinos, of course, has its gay pride event in June every year. Wonder Beach Festival in early July – a five-day celebration filled with concerts and some of the most well-known parties in Spain, including WE Party, My Pleasure, and PAPA Party – hosted by Eliad Cohen. Lastly, there’s the Mad Bear Beach Festival, which is a long weekend full of parties for, you guessed it, bears!

Also, for over a decade, Delice Dream has brought its famous festival to Spain, now to the gay-friendly town of Torremolinos (previously in Sitges). The event features great parties and activities in one of the best gay beach cities in Europe. Expect a drag queen and best bum contest, barbecue, pool party, and more.

How to get to Torremolinos

Getting to Torremolinos is remarkably straightforward, as it is located very close to a central international hub. The easiest way to arrive is by flying into Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), which is only about ten minutes away by car. From the airport terminal itself you can take the C1 Cercanías train line directly to one of the town’s several stops a journey that is both fast and very affordable. Taxis and pre-booked transfers are also widely available for a quick trip to your accommodation. If you are traveling from other parts of Spain, you will likely arrive at the Málaga-María Zambrano high-speed train station. From there, you can easily connect to the same C1 local train line to complete your journey. Buses also connect Málaga’s central bus station to Torremolinos frequently, and the town is well-served by the A-7 motorway if you choose to drive.
