Porta Bar

It is in a tiny alley at the other end of the harbor front, near the blue-domed church. This is the place to sip cocktails and enjoy the sensational Mykonian sunsets. More like a traditional English gay pub, it is down-to-earth and more relaxed than the other venues.

The music creates a beautiful atmosphere, blending jazz and catchy dance tracks.

Porta provides you with a kind of pause from the party scene. It does get quite busy from around 1 am, especially in the summer months.

Kastro’s Mykonos

A bar and restaurant are in the perfect spot for fabulous sunsets. Warm service, laid-back vibes, and some of the best food on the island (try the sea bass with broccoli and coconut puree). This is Greece as you imagined, and you will likely return night after night.

Although not exclusively a gay bar, Kastro’s attracts a lot of gay couples who are looking for some time out. Lastly, the food at Kastro’s is also wonderfully delicious and worth trying out.

The Jackie O gay bar is a modern designer bar with a Greek feel and a large terrace for watching the sunset over the water; after dark, it becomes a great place to dance the night away, with friendly staff, good music, and nightly Drag shows making this bar a must try when in Mykonos.

Cavo Paradiso

This is THE famous mega-club of Mykonos and is often rated as one of the best in the world. It is located just above Paradise Beach (ie, the beach on the west side of Super Paradise Beach), perched up high on a 150-foot high cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea. During the summer months, Cavo Paradiso hosts some of the biggest parties, which reminded us of some of the mega-club parties in Ibiza. The crowd is usually a mix of gay and straight guys – and those in between!

Over the years, Super Paradise has become a synonym for the Party in Mykonos. It is usually packed with clubbers, jet-setters, models, and VIPs. So don’t be surprised if you spot a celebrity amongst the crowd dancing beside you.

Secondly, Super Paradise calls for fun in the sun amidst an eclectic crowd. Over there, you will meet a great mix of personalities and bodies, enjoying the vibes of the Beach Club. Loosen up in a relaxed atmosphere early in the day, and prepare to party in the evening.

Jackie O’ club

Jackie O’s is a primarily gay, family-friendly beach club with a large pool, Jacuzzi, beachfront, and private Kaiki (traditional Greek fishing boat) for day cruises. Their fine-dining yet casual Mediterranean restaurant is led by renown Greek chef Christoferos Peskias, plus an all-day bar serving outstanding food and signature cocktails. Food and drink service extends to the pool, beach, and middle lounge areas. Open all day until about 1:00 a.m. with festive nightly drag queen sets with shows starting at roughly 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. This is the original and sister property to Jackie O’ Bar in Mykonos Town, with an additional live drag show later in the evening. A currently under-construction hotel will also join the mix in 2021.

Babylon

Babylon is the most popular gay club of Mykonos, located next door to Jackie O’. We always have a ball here – there’s always a lively, fun atmosphere going strong until around 6am. Inside there is a dancing area with drag shows and GoGo dancers. Outside it has a really pretty terrace to hang out (complete with ocean spray!) where you can people-watch and gossip about who’s gone to the Church cruising ground next door!

@54 Lounge Bar & Discotheque is the new kid on the block, opening its doors in 2014, and has become the place you must be seen in Mykonos with exclusive weekly parties and top DJs make for a good night out, don’t forget to enjoy the sunset with a glass of champagne from the terrace, Then when the day has turned to night, step inside and dance the night away.

At54 also gives us our dose of Greek pop gay anthems from the most famous local divas like Anna Vissi, Elena Paparizou, Tamta, and Eleni Foureira. And if one of those Greek divas is in town, this is the spot they’re likely to perform just like Kelly Kaltsi did in 2016.

Gay Sunset Bar @ Elysium

This famous gay hotel in Mykonos is one of the best places on the island to enjoy the sunset and is a bit of a ritual. Themed nights, live DJs, and glam cocktails – but it’s almost too trendy now with everybody competing to be the hottest gay man on the island.

Attached to the ‘straight-friendly’ Hotel Elysium, this poolside bar has long been the first port of call for the gay party crowd. Lovely bar staff flirts shamelessly, perhaps to distract from the hefty drink prices. Drag queens perform nightly from mid-May to September, although the show’s real star is the sun sinking over the horizon.
