The old town
Primosten lies between Sibenik and Split. The old town on a small island connected with the mainland attracts tourists with its fascinating architecture, beautiful beaches, and crystal clear waters. In the past, the primary source of income was the cultivation of grapevines, olives, and fishing, and today it is mainly oriented to tourism.
The interesting fact is that it was initially an island. About five centuries ago, the residents of Primošten, fleeing from the Turks, settled on the nearby island of Gola Glava. They surrounded it with city walls and built a wooden bridge, which they raised in times of danger. The town got its name: premošten means bridged over, hence Primošten.
Beaches in Primošten
Primošten is not only a gorgeous old town on a scenic peninsula. Additionally, several beautiful beaches attract more and more tourists every year. The most famous one is Mala Raduča Beach, among the top 10 beaches in Croatia. Besides, there are many other fascinating spots for swimming and sunbathing, like Pisa Beach, Velika Raduša Beach, Lokvice Beach, etc. That’s why Primošten is called the city of beaches.

The best tours from Primošten

How do you get to Primošten?
As we have already mentioned, Primošten lies between Šibenik and Trogir. To get to the town from Zagreb on the A1 motorway, exit towards Šibenik and then continue along the coast.
The nearest airport from Primošten is Resnik in Split. You can get to Primošten by bus or rent a car. Furthermore, there are many buses to Primošten from Split and Šibenik, so arriving there should not be a problem.
