Desimi Beach

The first of the inspiring Lefkada beaches lies on the small bay 23.5 km south of Lefkada Town (6km from Nidri). This lovely pebbly beach is surrounded by a large camp that you have to cross to reach it. In addition, it is situated in a bay that protects it from wind and waves. So, all are invited to enjoy the calmness of the beautiful sea. Finally, the water is gorgeous emerald green because of the bay’s vegetation.

Kalamitsi beaches

Kalamitsi is a traditional village in Lefkada. It is located 20km southwest of Lefkas and is one of the island’s oldest villages. Three great beaches are located about 4km away, at the foothill of the village. These are Kavalikefta, Megali Petra, and Avali Beach.

Kavalikefta

This is a tiny rocky beach; the rocks are both on the beach and in the water. These rocks give a beach a unique charm and sense of wilderness, and they provide privacy. The stones are great for jumping. The sea is turquoise, like on the other beaches on the west coast. What’s more, the beach is equipped. So you can rent sunbeds and parasols.

Megali Petra (meaning big rock)

That one is one of the beaches of Lefkada that everyone should visit without hesitation. It took its name from the huge rocks that are seen on the shore. It is located 24.3 km west of Chora and close to Kalamitsi.

The beach is partly organized with sun beds and umbrellas scattered between the rocks. The wild yet fascinating landscape of Megali Petra offers a pleasant feeling of seclusion and privacy. Sheltered by the abrupt green cliffs, the beach is unspoiled, ideal for nature lovers. Megali Petra provides a beautiful swimming experience.

Avali beach

This beach is quite lengthy. It is also similar in beauty to all the other west coasts but without the crowds. However, it is not organized. Therefore you should bring your refreshments and equipment.

Agiofili beach

In the South part of Lefkada Island, just a few minutes from Vasiliki Town, is a beautiful Agiofili Beach. This small paradise offers clear blue water you will love and white sand you will genuinely enjoy. You can also reach Agiofili Beach by boat from Vasiliki or by car, followed by a short hike.

Unlike other popular beaches on Lefkada (Egremni, Porto Katsiki…) the sea is not milky blue, but transparent and great for diving. The sea world is very rich, so the Agiofili represents a paradise for divers.

Egremni beach

Egremni is one of the most beautiful Lefkada beaches and is listed as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. For many, it is the most beautiful beach in Lefkada, even before the famous Porto Katziki.

Until 2015, this beach could be reached by going down 350 famous steps, but after the earthquake, you can approach it only from the sea by boat.

There are numerous excursions to this beach, both from Nidri and Vasiliki. Visiting Egremni Beach is usually part of the Porto Katsiki and Agiofili trip.

Kathisma beach

This is another one of the fantastic beaches on the west coast. Kathisma Beach is as attractive as Lefkada’s best-known beaches, Porto Katsiki and Egremni. But that’s not all. It is also easily accessible. Because of this, it makes it perfect for anyone who wants to rest from driving winding roads to the beaches and down the steps. The beach has it all. That is a beautiful clear blue sea, white pebbles, and waves.

Mylos

Poros Mikros Gialos beach

Mikros Gialos Beach is located on the east coast of Lefkada. It is 11km from Nidri, 15km from Vasiliki, and 30km from the capital city, Lefkas. In addition, it is one of the three beaches in Lefkada with the Blue Flag.

More importantly, it’s in the bay. So it has no wind. That’s why the sea is always calm. On the beach, you could rent boats, kayaks, pedals, etc.

The beach is organized, you could rent sunbeds and parasols (6e set), and it has enough space to set up your equipment. Along the coast, there are several taverns and bars and a supermarket. Next to it is a road with a parking space, but it is best to arrive earlier on the beach in the middle of the season because of the crowd.

The beach is in a lovely environment and tucked between the hills covered with forest. It is excellent for diving.

Porto Katsiki beach

Porto Katsiki has been one of Lefkada’s primary attractions and of the entire Greece for ages. So, it is no wonder that it has landed on our list of the most beautiful Lefkada beaches.

It is located 44 km south-west of the island’s capital near the village of Athani.

The natural beauty of Porto Katsiki offers one of the unique themes Lefkada is famous for. Abrupt white cliffs form a wild yet magnificent backdrop and a remarkable antithesis of the deep blue waters of the Ionian. Lush vegetation covers the surrounding area, creating one of the most idyllic landscapes in the world.

How can you reach it?

The beach can be reached by boat from Nidri and Vasiliki or by road. You can rent a private boat from Vasiliki and Nidri, and for 50-80e, you can visit the beach with your captain. There are numerous organized excursions to the beach from Vasiliki and Nidri too. A beach Porto Katsiki, is usually incorporated into the trip to Egremni and Agiofili.
