Alluring Sporades consists of 4 larger islands in Greece, Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos, and Skyros, as well as several small and uninhabited islets.
They lie in the northern part of the Aegean Sea, southeast of Mount Pelion.
As for their popularity, Skiathos attract the most significant number of visitors, followed by Skopelos. Most travelers arrive during summer, the best season to spend time at their exotic seashores. Alonissos and Skyros keep a lower profile.
They may be less popular among international tourists than some more famous islands, like Santorini, Mykonos, or Crete. But we assure you Alluring Sporades will find their way to your heart with their unspoiled beaches, beautiful white-washed villages, delicious cuisine, and friendly locals. Let’s check them out.

Skiathos
Sometimes called ‘The Mykonos of the Sporades’, Skiathos has excellent beaches, among the best in Greece. In addition, it offers plenty of nightlife and lots of trees, forests, and wildlife too. With many foreigners living here year-round, it’s an excellent place to visit in the off-season. However, getting to the Sporades is more challenging than the other Aegean islands, especially during the off-season.
However, there is an international airport in Skiathos with some international flights and daily flights from Athens.

Skopelos
As a pine forest primarily covers the island’s land, green will cast a spell over you. Eye-catching landscapes; crystal clear waters next to golden coasts; traditional architecture; rugged natural landscapes, and a pure island atmosphere are what Skopelos adds up to. Skopelos’ strongest card is its jaw-dropping beaches with pine trees touching its turquoise waters and fascinating local cuisine.
The island enjoyed international acclaim when Hollywood producers chose it to shoot the famous movie “Mamma Mia!”, establishing it as a holiday destination for travelers worldwide.

Alonisoss
Alonissos is one of the best destinations in the Sporades. Why? Because it is famous for its natural beauty, fantastic beaches, and authentic environment. Its picturesque Chora offers breathtaking sea views of the Aegean. And its other villages, such as Patitiri, Votsi, Roussoum Gialos, and Steni Vala, are great for families or couples seeking a quiet and peaceful setting.

Skyros
Very green with a pine forest that covers much of the island, lovely beaches, and some attractive traditional villages and customs. Skyros is famous for its carnival celebration and the goat dancers, who may date back to the ancient cult of Dionysios.
Whether you are an action lover or desperate for carefree moments under the sun, Skyros has a unique experience to offer you! Only three and a half hours away from Athens lies the southernmost island of Sporades. Several Greek mythology myths about legendary heroes such as Lykomedes, Theseus, Achilles, and Neoptolemus are connected with the island of Skyros.
