About Frigiliana Village
Frigiliana lies on the border of the Sierras de Tejeda y Almijara Nature Park. Just seven kilometers north of Nerja is the typical pueblo Blanco, which sits high on a mountain ridge overlooking the sea with spectacular panoramic views.
The typical ‘Moorish pueblo Blanco (white village) of Frigiliana offers breathtaking views of the Higueron River in the Chillar Valley. To the northwest, the municipality borders Cómpeta; to the west, Torrox; and to the south, Nerja.
The village can be divided into the newer lower section and the older Morisco-Mudéjar neighborhood, the upper chamber.
Tip: The upper section is the place to visit.
Charmingly, the village is a maze of steep, narrow cobbled streets lined by whitewashed houses with balconies filled with brilliant red geraniums.
Frigiliana is best explored by foot. Several excellent shops sell locally made pottery, ceramics, linen, and basket ware. Small plazas provide shady seating, while the village bars are popular with visitors to taste locally produced wine.

Malaga, Torrox, Nerja, and Torre del Mar are all within a day visit distance by car. The beautiful Almijara Natural Park is perfect for outdoor lovers who enjoy rambling, hiking, mountain biking, and bird watching.
Cuisine
Many excellent restaurants offer good value and excellent cuisine in Frigiliana; there are some lovely places to eat in the central plaza (square). If you explore further, you will find restaurants tucked away in the village’s cobbled streets. Head up to the Mirador (viewing point) at the top of the town; here, you can enjoy a bite to eat and beautiful views.

Due to its geographical position, Frigiliana has an extraordinary microclimate, with an average annual temperature of 18 ºC. The rainfall is low, annually around 600 liters a square meter. It means that the winters are mild and the summers warm. All of this makes the spot a unique natural paradise.
